Give a voice to one of the most vulnerable populations in Washtenaw County - our children.

Friends of CASA depends on the generous support of individuals, foundations, businesses, and community groups. Today, YOU can help provide a volunteer advocate for a child in need by donating to Friends of CASA.

National CASA reports the cost of recruiting, training, and supervising a CASA volunteer is $960.

General Fund

Recruitment for the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers
Training for the CASA volunteers
Supervisor and support to the CASA volunteers
Increased community awareness to the CASA Program
Funding to the annual Cinderella Fund

Cinderella Fund

Purpose of the Cinderella Fund
The Cinderella Fund was established by the Friends of CASA to provide for the special needs of the children assigned to CASAvolunteers. The Cinderella Fund is not intended for items covered by Department of Human Services stipends. Rather, they are designed to provide the children with important and meaningful items or services that fall beyond the normal DHS budget.
Examples of items and services funded in the past by the Cinderella Fund are
Used guitar from EBay for a musically inclined child
Parenting books for a pregnant teenager
Clothes for a child who outgrew her wardrobe prior to the next DHS clothing stipend
Sports and music camps (note that Washtenaw County also provides camp scholarships)
Birthday cake
Gift cards for birthday or holiday (particularly appropriate for older children)
