CINDERELLA FUND The Cinderella Fund was established by the Friends of CASA to provide for the special needs of the children assigned to CASA volunteers. The Cinderella Fund is not intended for items covered by Department of Human Services stipends. Rather, they are designed to provide the children with important and meaningful items or services that fall beyond the normal DHS budget. Examples of items and services funded in the past by the Cinderella Fund are
CINDERELLA FUND PURCHASE REQUEST When a CASA volunteer identifies a potential Cinderella Fund purchase, the following process is followed: 1) The CASA volunteer fills out the Cinderella Fund Purchase Request Form (see right column). 2) The Friends of CASA Executive Director and CASA Supervisor will evaluate the request in terms of whether it is something which should be funded by DHS or another organization. 3) If the request is appropriate for the Cinderella Fund, and the estimated cost is under $50, the CASA Supervisor will inform the CASA volunteer via e-mail to proceed with the purchase. The Friends of CASA Treasurer is copied on the e-mail. 4) If the request is appropriate for the Cinderella Fund, and the estimated cost is $50 or greater, the Friends of CASA Board will review the request for approval. The Friends of CASA Executive will respond via e-mail to the CASA Supervisor, the CASA volunteer, and the CASA Treasurer. 5) If the request is not appropriate for the Cinderella Fund, the CASA Supervisor will respond directly to the CASA volunteer with suggestions for meeting the need in other ways. 6) If the request is approved, and if the CASA volunteer chooses to purchase the item directly, please mail the receipt to: Friends of CASA Washtenaw County Trial Court - Juvenile Division 101 East Huron Street P.O. Friends of CASA will send you a reimbursement check. 7) If the CASA volunteer prefers to have Friends of CASA pay the vendor directly, please indicate this on the Cinderella Purchase Request Form. Friends of CASA will make arrangements for payment via Friends of CASA check or credit card. |
