Cinderella Fund

The Cinderella Fund was established by Friends of CASA to provide for the special needs of the children assigned to CASA volunteers. The Cinderella Fund is not intended for items covered by Department of Human Services stipends; rather to provide the children with important and meaningful items or services that fall beyond the normal DHS budget.

Examples of items and services funded in the past include: are

  • Used guitar from EBay for a musically inclined child
  • Parenting books for a pregnant teenager
  • Clothes for a child who outgrew her wardrobe prior to the next DHS clothing stipend
  • Sports and music camps (note that Washtenaw County also provides camp scholarships)
  • Birthday cake
  • Gift cards for birthday or holiday (particularly appropriate for older children)
